ERIC CANTONA is to play hotelier by opening a rural retreat to a pair of football fans for two nights of unique hospitality for the 2020 Champions League final.
The retired sports star and actor, dubbed “King Eric” by Manchester United fans, is taking over a stunning holiday home in the Provence region of France.
One fan and a friend will spend two nights at “Casa de Cantona”.
They will be treated to a pre-match French feast, TV room service, a swimming pool for a half-time dip and have Cantona providing insight as the ultimate armchair pundit.
Hotels.com devised the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with fans unable to watch Europe’s biggest club game from inside the stadium in Lisbon.
The football legend has been diligently preparing “Casa De Cantona” for his guests’ arrival, ensuring the VIPs have the ultimate viewing set-up and the best room in the house.
Cantona said: “Football is beautiful and for an epic game like the Champions League final, football should be enjoyed in epic surroundings.
“Fear not, Hotels.com and I have just the place.
“The fans cannot travel to the stadium but you can come and enjoy a summer soiree with me in the South of France instead, magnifique non?”
Cantona will hand over keys to the luxury abode for two nights and then chat poetry and football tactics before hanging around to enjoy the big game build-up and the match itself.
Emma Tagg, senior manager, global brand communications at Hotels.com brand, added: “This year we are bringing the stadium excitement to one very lucky super-fan.
“You can swap your seat for a sun lounger and experience 5-star treatment for the Champions League final.
“Watch the biggest game of the year with the biggest football legend at Casa De Cantona.
“You never know, you might get an exclusive poetry reading at half time.”
