United announced earlier on Saturday that Solskjaer had signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2024.

After the sad loss, United fans took to Twitter in droves to make jokes about Solskjaer.

Another remarked, “Yeah, sign this PE teacher’s contract immediately.”

A final supporter expresses his optimism. Solskjaer has learned that several players of his squad may have to leave the club, either temporarily or permanently.

“You can only hope Ole has learned that some of the youngsters need game time on loan and may need to be shipped out permanently,” they stated.
