Man United have a great chance in January to finally meet Gary Neville’s desire.

Manchester United’s goalkeeping dilemma could be solved in the new year in an unexpected way.

According to sources, Manchester United is interested in dissatisfied PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could finally find a solution to his goalkeeper dilemma by signing Donnarumma, who would be a top-tier option in the present and future.

Adidas and Manchester United have unveiled their official 2021/22 home jersey, which features a modern take on the club’s traditional designs.

Gary Neville, a former United player, said in August that while he was pleased with the club’s summer business, Solskjaer needed to choose a number one goalkeeper.

“I think just sort out the goalkeeping situation, settle things down, decide who is going to be number one, and United are in a terrific defensive position,” he told Sky Sports.

Last season, Dean Henderson was the first-choice goalkeeper, but David de Gea stole the show after contracting COVID-19 during preseason.

The Spaniard has made a strong start to the current season, re-establishing himself as Solskjaer’s first choice.

With De Gea and Henderson competing for the same starting slot yet again, United manager Jose Mourinho may fix the problem by ignoring both and purchasing a new goalkeeper.

Donnarumma is unsatisfied at PSG, according to Calciomercato, after joining the Ligue 1 giants on a free transfer in the summer.

In Mauricio Pochettino’s pecking order, the 22-year-old is presently second fiddle behind Keylor Navas.

Several other clubs are interested in signing Donnarumma, including Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Manchester United.

According to the Sun, Henderson wants to leave Old Trafford on loan in the January transfer window, which might open the door for Donnarumma to join him.

PSG may not demand a large sum if the Italy international wishes to leave France after his free arrival.

Solskjaer might bring in Donnarumma to take De Gea’s spot as his first-choice goalkeeper.

The Red Devils may then sell Henderson in the summer or try to get De Gea off the payroll.

De Gea’s early-season form is only one of several difficulties with this scenario that could hinder Donnarumma from moving.

If the former AC Milan player joins United, he will expect to take over as Solskjaer’s first choice right away.

If Donnarumma is dissatisfied with his status as a backup at PSG, he is unlikely to accept a similar job in England.
