Liverpool will compete with Chelsea for the £34 million star who is adored by Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly set to battle it out for the services of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

Liverpool are weighing up the possibility of mounting an approach for Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, according to reports. The 21-year-old is one of Europe’s finest young prospects and has established himself as a starter for France alongside the likes of Paul Pogba in recent months.

Tchouameni made 42 appearances for Monaco in all competitions last season and has played in all of his side’s Ligue 1 matches this time around.

His strong form at club level was rewarded with a debut senior call-up for France back in August, with the playmaker impressing for Les Bleus in his first three international outings.

He is said to be on Chelsea’s radar as Thomas Tuchel eyes additional reinforcements in the middle of the park ahead of next season.

However, it seems as though the Blues are not the only club harbouring a keen interest in bringing Tchouameni to the Premier League.

Liverpool have also been keeping tabs on the player and could launch a move for his services either in January or when next summer rolls around, according to Calciomercato.

The report claims that both Chelsea and the Reds would like to sign Tchouameni, with Monaco prepared to cash in for a transfer fee in the region of £34million.

Juventus are also believed to be tracking his progress and have been credited with a desire to partner him with Manuel Locatelli in the engine room.

Tchouameni is said to be their first-choice midfield target, with club chiefs drawing up a plan to beat Chelsea and Liverpool to his signature.

It remains to be seen whether the Monaco man, who has been tipped to enjoy a long and successful career at the highest levels of the game, will be shipped out over the coming months.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba, who played alongside Tchouameni for France last month, is known to be a huge admirer of his new international team-mate.

He recently delivered a glowing assessment of the player, insisting that his age-defying performances are a clear indicator of his exceptional quality and future potential.

“Very, very good,” Pogba told French media when quizzed on Tchouameni’s early showings for the reigning world champions.

“He’s not a boy, he’s a man. It. “Brinkwire Summary News”.
