Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers opens the door to Celtic for Filip Benkovic

The door was opened by Brendan Rodgers for Filip Benkovic to make an epic return to Celtic.

After spending this season with Cardiff City, the center-back, who once featured for his country, was recalled by his parent club yesterday.

And Rodgers admitted that he could return to Parkhead, where in 2018 he spent a season on loan.

“Rodgers said, “It’s a possibility for sure. It’s a big club, and there he did very well. We didn’t have much touch, but now he’s back and we’ll see what happens.

“Celtic will be a perfect move for him. He’s at the age that he really wants to play, and in Cardiff, it didn’t work out like that.

I would never blame another manager for not letting anyone play because things can always change, but it didn’t work out, sadly.

It’s really pretty easy, he needs to find the next place to play now.
