Lando Norris fires Mercedes and offers a warning to Red Bull as he responds to Lewis Hamilton.

Lando Norris of McLaren hopes to go head-to-head with the Mercedes and Red Bulls numerous times between now and the conclusion of the season.

Lando Norris believes he can compete with the Mercedes and Red Bulls until the end of the season, but he does not expect to be on the podium at the British Grand Prix this weekend. Meanwhile, McLaren driver Lando Norris thinks that being congratulated by Lewis Hamilton midway through the last race in Austria was an honor.

During the Styrian Grand Prix, Norris frustrated Hamilton for 15 circuits around the Red Bull Ring, but the Mercedes driver eventually overtook the young Brit.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, said over his team radio after finally passing the McLaren: “Such a tremendous driver, Lando.”

Norris finished ahead of Hamilton for his fourth career podium after qualifying second and starting on the front row for the first time in his career.

After hearing Hamilton’s message, the 21-year-old told Sky Sports F1 after the race, “Love you Lewis.” It’s fine. It means a lot to have that type of respect, and for him to say that.”

Further expanding on the remark, the former F3 champion said it was unexpected to receive such appreciation from a fellow countryman ahead of Formula One’s return to Silverstone this weekend.

Only Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher has won as many driver’s titles as the 36-year-old Hamilton in the sport’s history, according to Norris.

“It was cool hearing it from Lewis,” he said. More than any other driver in Formula One. I would never do something like that in the middle of a race. It was strange since you wouldn’t expect to hear it.

“However, the fact that he said it after he had passed me and I was racing against him, rather than him dropping back because of any issues, says much more.

“So it was strange – but also cool – because it was the first time I’d ever raced Lewis for more than one corner.

“You know he’s the best, so it’s a different sensation. And there’s a reason he’s the best. He’s capable of both offense and defense, but.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
