Jurgen Klopp’s five transfer targets as the Reds prepare to ratchet up their business

In preparation for the 2021/22 season, Jurgen Klopp is looking for midfield and attacking reinforcements.

Following the club’s recent sale, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to secure his summer transfer goals. Harry Wilson, a 24-year-old winger, is close to signing a £12 million deal with Fulham in the Championship, bringing more cash to Liverpool.

With Wilson’s departure, the Reds will have earned more than £30 million from player sales alone this summer.

Kamil Grabara, Liam Millar, Marko Grujic, and Taiwo Awoniyi have all been sold by Klopp.

The midfield and attack exodus is expected to continue, with Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi expected to join those already gone.

Jordan Henderson’s future is also uncertain after contract talks stagnated as he approached the end of his current contract.

Express Sport looks at who Klopp is eyeing as he attempts to expand his squad, with £30 million in income already earned and more to come.

There are unlikely to be any further defensive additions after the £35 million signing of RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate.

However, with full-back Neco Williams and centre-back Nathaniel Phillips allegedly free to move for regular football, there could be departures.

With Liverpool still looking for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, various midfielders have been connected with the club.

Three of them, Renato Sanches, Youri Tielemans, and Saul Niguez, appear to have a lot of attention.

Sanches appears to be the most likely candidate. After helping Lille win Ligue 1 last season, his profile has increased, and his energy and strength should help him fill the vacuum left by Wijnaldum.

Tielemans will be overvalued by Leicester City, while Saul is close to joining Barcelona as part of a deal that will see Antoine Griezmann return to Atletico Madrid.

Klopp has made it clear that he wants to add an attacker to his team now that Origi and Shaqiri are free to depart.

Diogo Jota joined Liverpool last summer and, despite injury problems, has made an immediate impact on the pitch.

This season, Jota will likely face off against Roberto Firmino in the middle, thus the Reds may want wing cover.

Jarrod Bowen and Ismaila Sarr of West Ham United are currently the focus of reports.

Klopp is said to be a “big fan” of Bowen, although West Ham would most likely outbid Liverpool for his services this summer.

Sarr is a more grounded character. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
