Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has been advised that he needs to reinforce two areas with new recruits.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has been pushed to make a few more acquisitions this summer.
Jurgen Klopp, according to Liverpool great Steve Nicol, has to strengthen in two critical areas this summer. So far this summer, Liverpool has only made one addition, bringing in RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate. Klopp is attempting to rebound from last season’s injury-plagued campaign by spending £36 million on Konate.
After his contract expired, Klopp let Georginio Wijnaldum leave on a free transfer.
A number of players have been linked with Liverpool as potential replacements for the Dutchman.
Nicol believes Klopp needs to invest in midfield, but would also want to see a striker come in.
The Scot quipped that if he could bring in any player to lead the line for Liverpool, it would be Harry Kane.
“Harry Kane, centre-forward,” Nicol said when asked what Liverpool needs to sign. That would be wonderful. Yeah.
“Perhaps there’s someone in the midst of the park. That would be fantastic. Consider what would happen if Liverpool landed Harry Kane.”
Jordan Henderson, Liverpool’s captain, has been linked with a move away from Anfield.
Henderson was sidelined for the majority of last season due to injury.

The former Sunderland goalkeeper is in the final two years of his contract with the Reds, and talks have hit a snag.
However, ex-Red Danny Murphy believes the problem will be settled and Henderson’s playing days at Liverpool will come to an end.
“I think he’s extremely unusual Jordan, he’s someone who can still play in the end of his career, yet play in different positions equally well,” Murphy told talkSPORT.
“If Fabinho isn’t there, he can play the holding role beautifully, putting out fires, and he can play on the front foot and press.”
“I don’t think there will ever be a problem with Jordan negotiating a contract with Liverpool; I don’t think we’ll get to a point where this becomes a problem; it’ll just be fluid and seamless – as it always is with appreciated players.
“I believe Jordan will finish his career with Liverpool.
