Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho says the secret to success after his side beat Brentford 2-0 is to take the League Cup seriously. After Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min defeated the Championship side in the Carabao Cup semifinals, Mourinho was brought to Spurs to end their 13-year trophy drought and now only Manchester City or Manchester United stand in his way.

The Portuguese have a love affair with the competition, with Chelsea and United having won it four times. After Ron Saunders and Ron Atkinson, he is just the third man to reach the finals with three different clubs. Tottenham’s second goal against Brentford (Adam Davy/PA) was scored by Son Heung-min. Mourinho has always given full respect to the competition and did so again when he had a good side against Stoke and Brentford in both of the last two rounds. I came to England in 2004 and I remember I had to learn the significance of the cups here during that period and I always took them seriously,”I came to England in 2004 and I remember during that time I had to learn the importance of the cups here and I have always taken them seriously,” “If there is a secret, it is to take them seriously. To respect what English soccer is, what English clubs are, what English lower leagues are, and to try not to be surprised in any of the lower quality games, and when you have a game against Chelsea, like we have this season, to go seriously and with ambition. Apart from that, there is no other secret. ” I’m not telling you the winning attitude, I’m not saying that we are this or that. At Wembley, I’ll see you soon! #COYS #MS17 pic.twitter.com/yZotdl2HKt- Moussa Sissoko (@MoussaSissoko) January 5, 2021 “I just say we are honest people. The guys since the first game against Chelsea, then Stoke, and now the guys have taken it seriously. “And that’s what I hope to do in Crosby against Marine on Sunday (in the FA Cup). It’s going to be a lot harder in the final against one of the Manchester clubs after having a bye in the third round and then facing a championship rival in the quarterfinals and semifinals. The top clubs have more regard for it than people think, Mourinho says, with only City, United or Chelsea winning in the last seven years. “When you see the winners, you know the big clubs want to win,” he said. Here we come to Wembley pic.twitter.com/ImIrDtYWfh- Harry Kane (@HKane) January 5, 2021 “Who was the last winner, apart from the normal top six? Swansea? I remember Man City winning a lot, Chelsea winning a lot, I remember United winning a few times. “In the finals, Arsenal, I remember Liverpool. They’re involved in major clubs. The ending says a lot. Tottenham against Manchester City or Manchester United against Tottenham. “Mourinho was not overly enthusiastic about his team’s performance against the Bees, but declared it done after goals from Sissoko and Son in both halves. “Defensively, it was fine. We were still in charge,” he said. “We scored two goals with the ball, and we should have scored a couple more. But I’m not happy. I think we have to play better. Sometimes poor decisions, sometimes technical mistakes. I think we have to do better, but I have great respect for the opponent, for the game, for the responsibility, for the determination, but we’re in the final, the job is done. I knew before the game that we had a chance, but our performance proved that we had a chance. “I think we were more or less able to keep up with a team like Tottenham for 70 minutes. We were denied the VAR by inches when we scored the equalizer. We came here with a brave mentality, we played and pushed, and then they played the Premier League quali quali.
