John Hartson has tipped TEN Celtic players to leave the club this summer during a clear-out.
The Hoops hero has suggested some top tier stars at the Glasgow giants are likely to leave including Odsonne Edouard, £5million man Albian Ajeti and Olivier Ntcham.
Hartson reckons the club managed to keep Edouard in the summer because they had the pull of making history by completing an incredible 10th league title in a row. But now that has not materialised, the Welshman believes Edouard’s time is up and he will look to move this summer.
We told how the ex-PSG striker changed agents, with all likelihood being his plans to depart, with English Premier League club interested including the likes of Leicester City and Arsenal.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Hartson said: “How can this happen? Somebody’s got to take accountability for this. And it’s not just the manager. That’s why I say I think it needs a clear out because it’s just not been good enough, the standard’s not being good enough. About 10 players should leave the club this summer.
“I’m thinking of Ntcham. I’m not sure about (Kristoffer) Ajer, I’m thinking about (Shane) Duffy going back. I’m thinking about Edouard, I’m thinking about maybe they have to try to offload (Albian) Ajeti because how many goals has he got? He’s not somebody that the fans are excited to see coming back into the team. And there’s probably two or three more.
“I think Edouard was desperate to go. Last summer. I think they sold him the dream in terms of trying to stay for 10 in a row. That hasn’t quite worked out.”
