Jamie Carragher makes a scathing attack on Eric Cantona and picks his favorite Manchester United player.
Jamie Carragher mocked Eric Cantona during a fan Q&A on Twitter as the former Liverpool defender marks the 25th anniversary of his first appearance for the Reds.
As he answered fans’ questions on Twitter, Jamie Carragher took a swipe at Manchester United legend Eric Cantona and chose his favorite Red Devil.
On a historic day for the former Liverpool defender, he held an online Qandamp;A to commemorate his 25th anniversary of making his debut for the club, after which he went on to make over 700 appearances.
Carragher has a rare weekend off from football due to the FA Cup third round, and the Sky Sports pundit tweeted: “A quick Qandamp;A due to the date, it’s p*****g down andamp; I’m bored! Go!!”
But, of course, a Carragher Qandamp;A is never complete without a dig at United.
In addition to answering many Liverpool-related questions, some fans took advantage of the opportunity to mock the former defender, with one user asking, “Jamie, how many Premier League titles do you have?”
And Carragher, in typical Carragher fashion, retorted, “The same amount of CL’s [Champions League’s] Cantona has.”
Carragher, like Steven Gerrard, is frequently mocked for never winning the Premier League with Liverpool despite being successful in every other competition, but the former defender responded brilliantly while taking down an ex-Manchester United player in the process.
“Your favorite Man United player of all time (You can say it’s @GNev2),” he was asked.
Carragher chose a different Sky colleague instead, snubbing Gary Neville and saying, “Roy Keane.”
Carragher has frequently praised Keane on air for his contributions at United, and the two now frequently appear on Sky Sports as part of a star-studded panel.
