‘It’s ludicrous!’ ‘Team USA’s ’embarrassing’ sprint events enrage Michael Johnson.

MICHAEL Johnson agreed with fellow Olympian Carl Lewis, who called Team USA’s track and field performance “embarrassing” during a scathing critique of the “ridiculous” but gifted squad.

Former Olympic star Michael Johnson slammed Team USA’s performance in the men’s 100m relay, saying he “absolutely” agreed with Carl Lewis’ assessment that they were a “embarrassment.” Team USA has a history of underperforming in the men’s relay at the Olympics, with detractors criticizing their passing skills and line-up. Mr Johnson added to the list, calling it “shocking” that American athletes haven’t won a 4x100m gold medal since 2000, despite winning many world championships.

With a time of 38.10 seconds, Trayvon Bromell, Fred Kerley, Ronnie Baker, and Cravon Gillespie finished sixth in their heat.

The participants struggled to pass the baton and line up correctly, and the team was eliminated from the final.

Carl Lewis took to Twitter after the game to criticize the team.

“The USA team did everything wrong in the men’s relay,” he wrote. The passing system is incorrect, competitors are running on the wrong legs, and there is no discernible leadership.

“It was a tremendous embarrassment, and it was utterly inappropriate for a USA team to look worse than the AAU youngsters I saw.” When asked if he agreed with Mr Lewis, Mr Johnson responded promptly, “Absolutely.”

“I’d go so far as to say it was humiliating and ludicrous, but that’s what we’ve seen with the US teams for years: so much talent, so much depth, but not being able to get the baton around to drop it or sprint out of the lane.

“And what was intriguing was an interview where Fred Kerley and Ronnie Baker, who were both part of that relay, were asked how many times or how much they practiced by someone questioning them. I guess you know what I answered to.

“Fred Curley’s reaction was, I don’t know,” which is plainly not accurate; he does know when he doesn’t want to say something, as Ronnie Baker later stated, which was not much.

“I don’t know why they aren’t practicing; I believe it’s shocking with that much talent and depth, as well as the problems.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
