Real Madrid and Manchester United are allegedly close to agreeing on a deal for Raphael Varane. The France international is a priority transfer target for Manchester United, who are aiming to win the Premier League title next season. And it appears that a big move to Old Trafford is in the cards.

Varane has notified Los Blancos that he is ready to join Manchester United, according to reports in the last 24 hours.
And now, according to Madrid magazine MadridistaReal, a deal between the two teams is just a “matter of hours away.”

“It will only be a matter of hours before United and Madrid reach an agreement on Varane’s transfer,” they tweeted.
“The Frenchman is departing, but he wants to do so in a friendly manner, as he owes the club and Real Madrid a debt of gratitude.”
Varane has spent a decade in Spain, rejecting a move to Manchester United when he returned from Lens in the summer of 2011.
Sir Alex Ferguson was enraged by this, as he had hoped to sign the 28-year-old as a successor for Rio Ferdinand.
During that time, he’s been a huge success, winning 18 major trophies, including four Champions League wins and three La Liga triumphs.
United feel that by signing Varane, they will be able to play with just one defensive midfielder next season, rather than two.
