Ex-Coronation Street actor Nigel Havers has summed up his 2010 stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! as boring, saying it was really tough not having much to do every day
Nigel Havers has summed up his stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle as “total boredom”.
The Coronation Street actor was one of the campers on the 2010 series of the TV reality show, where he bunked down with the likes of Stacey Solomon, Alison Hammond and Gillian McKeith.
However, he dramatically withdrew from the competition after objecting to one of the tasks, so ended up finishing last.
Nigel, 69, was asked about his time in the Aussie jungle during an appearance on Good Morning Britain and said: “The thing is, I’ll sum it up in a word… two words. Total boredom.”
He went on to explain that while it was a great show he found it really tedious having very little to do for hours each day.
“You just have to sit there, and wait to be picked to do some horrible thing the next day!” he told hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, who is rumoured to be part of this year’s line-up himself.
Nigel walked out of I’m A Celebrity just a little over a week into his jungle stay.
He had been seen complaining about a Kangaroo Court task which saw contestants given electric shocks if they got questions wrong.
“I’m not up for it, I don’t do electric shocks so I’m leaving,” he said at the time.
“I cannot waste another second of my life.”
Loose Women star Stacey went on to win the competition and was crowned Queen of the Jungle, while Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder took second place.
The reality show is back next month, with Ant and Dec returning as hosts.
However, campers will once again be living in Gwrych Castle in Wales instead of Down Under in Australia.
The programme is traditionally held in Australia but moved to Abergele in Wales last year amid the coronavirus pandemic. And earlier this year show bosses confirmed the decision had been taken to return to Wales this year.
