If Edu signs Renato Sanches and two other players in January, Arsenal will have a formidable new lineup.

In recent weeks, Arsenal has been linked with a number of intriguing January signings.

When January comes around, Arsenal director Edu is expected to keep his big-spending ways.

Arsenal spent more than any other Premier League club during the summer transfer window, spending more than £150 million on six new players.

However, it appears that a mid-season recruitment drive is still in the works ahead of the season’s final stretch.

Lille midfielder Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to Arsenal after declaring his desire for a new challenge earlier this week, while Club Brugge winger Noa Lang and Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak have also been linked with the Gunners recently.

With that in mind, Express Sport looks at the Arsenal team that could form soon if Edu can sign all three players before the end of the year.

After a string of strong performances between the pipes, Aaron Ramsdale has tightened his grip on a starting spot in recent weeks.

On Saturday, he was beaten four times by Liverpool, but he has mostly succeeded in shutting out opponents while impressing with his distribution from the back.

Because of his strong recent performances, the 23-year-old is likely to keep his place in the side ahead of Bernd Leno for the remainder of the season.

Since joining the Gunners in a last-minute deadline-day deal over the summer, Takehiro Tomiyasu has amassed a slew of fans.

In the right-back position, he will continue to play ahead of Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares, while fellow newcomer Ben White has also settled in at the heart of Arsenal’s back four.

Between now and the end of the season, the latter will almost certainly be partnered by Gabriel Magalhaes, with Kierney resuming his role at left-back.

If Sanches joins Arsenal in the January transfer window, he will likely play alongside Thomas Partey as a deep-lying midfielder.

Last season, Lille pipped Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title by using the former Bayern Munich playmaker in a similar role.

Albert Sambi Lokonga will be able to cover both players, but he will have to put in a lot of effort in order to do so.
