If both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe join in a double swoop, Real Madrid’s XI will be terrifying.
REAL MADRID are reportedly planning a two-pronged attack to sign Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid’s desire to sign Kylian Mbappe next summer has been well documented in recent months, but they now appear to be on the verge of completing a sensational double swoop by luring Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund to join the Frenchman at the Bernabeu.
Haaland is expected to leave Dortmund this summer, according to a new report from The Athletic this week, who claims Manchester City has made Haaland their “first-choice” transfer target.
Manchester United has had an interest in the striker for some time.
However, according to The Daily Star, Haaland is set to turn down offers from both Manchester clubs in order to complete a dream transfer to Real Madrid – even if Real pursue Mbappe, who has just months left on his current contract at PSG.
That prospect will not only leave a slew of European clubs disappointed at missing out on Dortmund’s goalscoring sensation, but it will also leave the rest of the world in awe of Real’s star-studded new team.
Even for a team that was once known for its collection of superstars, dubbed ‘The Galacticos,’ signing two players of Haaland’s and Mbappe’s caliber would be remarkable.
Here’s how Real Madrid’s new ‘Galacticos’ might line up if Haaland and Mbappe arrive in Madrid…
Since arriving in Spain in a £35 million deal in 2018, Thibaut Courtois has established himself as Real’s undisputed number one.
Courtois, who is only 29, is still in his prime and should be the foundation of Real’s defense for many years to come.
Fernaud Mendy, a French left-back, has improved dramatically at the Bernabeu, while Dani Carvajal, a Spanish right-back, has emerged as one of the world’s best in recent years.
Real’s relentless title bid has been built around the new-look central defensive partnership of David Alaba and Militao.
Real have reportedly shelved a deal for Chelsea centre back Antonio Rudiger, who is set to be available for free in the summer, due to the duo’s outstanding performances.
Real would have had a three-man midfield.
