Arsenal is looking for a striker, and Ian Wright has suggested who they should target.

Ian Wright believes Arsenal should sign a striker who is a cross between Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal have been linked with a number of forwards this month as their frontmen’s futures have been questioned.

Dusan Vlahovic, Wright believes, could be the ideal candidate for the Gunners.

After being stripped of his captaincy for a second disciplinary breach in December, Aubameyang has fallen out of favour at Arsenal.

If an acceptable offer comes in, Arsenal will allow Gabon’s star to leave this month.

Meanwhile, Lacazette’s contract will expire at the end of the season.

Eddie Nketiah is in a similar situation to the Frenchman, and has been linked with a January departure.

Arsenal is interested in Fiorentina’s Vlahovic, according to The Athletic, and they are first in line to sign him if he leaves this window.

Mikel Arteta’s transfer business has impressed Wright, but he believes it is time to bolster the front line.

And he believes Vlahovic has the qualities the Gunners are looking for in a striker.

On the Kelly andamp; Wrighty Show, Wright said, “They’ve done fantastic business up until this point.”

“I believe they need another striker, even if Aubameyang’s situation can be resolved.”

“From Fiorentina, I’m hearing Vlahovic.

Between Lacazette and Aubameyang, we require a player.

“I don’t know what’s going on with Laca; I’d love for him to stay, but I don’t know what’s going on with him, and neither do we.”

“But if we can get that striker, that hard-running striker, that good link-up play, that good finisher, which Vlahovic is, then you start to think it’s happening now for Arsenal.”

With the additions of Vlahovic and PSG’s Georginio Wijnaldum, Wright believes his old team can compete for major titles once more.

“All of a sudden, Arsenal can start challenging and seriously challenging,” Wright explained.

“When you watch the game against City, I’m not sure if they’ll be able to maintain that level.”
