Higuain’s agent arrives in Italy for transfer talks with Juventus after David Beckham’s Inter Miami table bid for star

GONZALO HIGUAIN’S agent is reportedly in Turin for talks with Juventus over a possible switch to Inter Miami.

The Serie A champions have decided to call time on the striker’s four-year stay with the club.

However, rather than sort a transfer out of Italy, Juve are being asked to terminate Higuain’s contract before he picks his next destination.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player’s agent and brother Nicolas landed for crunch talks last night.

The discussions come against the backdrop of an offer for Higuain, 32, to play in MLS with Inter Miami.

David Beckham’s fledgling club have already snapped up Blaise Matuidi from Juventus and are said to want the Argentine too.

The Old Lady are undertaking a huge clearout amid the coronavirus pandemic’s financial crisis.

Yet Higuain, who scored 11 goals last season, reportedly wants a payout on the final year of his £130,000-a-week contract.

Agent Nicolas claims that offers have arrived from all over the globe for the Argentine, but a return to his home country is not on the cards.

He told Tuttosport last week: “[Higuain] has received offers from France, England, Spain, China and USA clubs, but not the ones that could make you go weak at the knees.

“We will make our evaluation carefully, but two things I can say for sure: Gonzalo will no longer play in Italy and most of all he will never play for Boca Juniors.

“He grew up at River Plate and he would never join their rivals.

“[Retiring] is nonsense. The time has not come yet, he wants to play. How long he will play, it’s up to him.

“But he wants to keep playing. Maybe he will return to Argentina in the future, but not now.”

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is being lined up by Juventus to replace Higuain, with a deal reportedly on the verge of being sealed.
