Harry Kane’s Tottenham team-mate, Son Heung-min, looks to take a shot at the striker as the Tottenham star eyes a move to Man City.
Son Heung-min appears to have poked fun at Tottenham teammate Harry Kane by ‘liking’ a social media post criticizing the England captain for missing pre-season training.
Kane was scheduled to return to Spurs’ Enfield training site on Monday for routine testing before beginning fitness workouts on Tuesday.
He has not been seen at the club’s headquarters this week, but over the weekend, he is expected to have a meeting with chairman Daniel Levy regarding his future.
After helping England reach the final of Euro 2020, Kane was granted an extended sabbatical, but Spurs are said to be upset that he has not returned.
The 28-year-old has stated a desire to leave Spurs in search of silverware, with Manchester City reportedly interested in a £150 million deal.
Kane has never won a major team award in his senior career, and he believes he has reached a gentleman’s agreement with the club to allow him to leave this summer. Talks with Levy are likely to include Kane reaffirming his desire to leave. Levy is anticipated to stick to his guns and refuse to sell his cherished asset.
Fans have spent the entire week arguing whether or not the striker is proper in avoiding preseason preparations for the 2021-22 season.
And now it appears that one of Kane’s teammates has joined in the criticism of his position, with Son responding with an Instagram post mocking his strike partner’s lack of silverware.
A Tottenham fan account shared a half-length photo of Kane alongside previous Spurs manager Bill Nicholson, who is the club’s most decorated manager in terms of awards won.
Under Kane, who is shown striding past the Champions League trophy with a runners-up medal around his neck, the inscription on the image reads “00 big trophies.”
Nicholson, who played, coached, managed, and scouted for Spurs for 36 years, is accompanied with the caption “26 trophies.”
The iconic character is the last Spurs manager to win a league title, having led them to victory in the First Division in 1960-61.
“A player’s size is never greater than that of a club. ‘Harry Kane FC’ has a total of 0 Trophies. “Brinkwire Summary News” says Tottenham Hotspur has 26 players.
