As manager of Fleetwood, Joey Barton has left his job.
Ever since 2018, the former Rangers midfielder has been in charge at Highbury.
“Fleetwood Town can confirm that manager Joey Barton has left the club with immediate effect,” a statement on the club’s official website said.
“We would like to thank Joey for his work during his time at Highbury Stadium and wish him every success for the future.”
Barton led Fleetwood last season to the League One playoffs, but in the semi-finals, they fell 6-3 to Wycombe.
After three straight draws, the Cod Army currently sit 10th in the table, three points below the top six. They have won only one of their last seven games.
In 2016, under Mark Warburton, Barton had an unhappy spell at Ibrox.
