Following the loss of Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua was brought to the hospital with a shattered eye socket.

Eddie Hearn is concerned that Anthony Joshua’s eye socket has been damaged as a result of his loss against Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has revealed that the British boxer was rushed to hospital following his Saturday night bout with Oleksandr Usyk. At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Joshua was defeated for the second time in his professional career, as former cruiserweight champion Usyk claimed the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles.

Hearn is concerned that his prize fighter sustained damage to his eye socket during the battle, and has confirmed that he will seek medical attention to determine the extent of his injuries.

“When he lost in New York, everyone started studying the dressing room, the ring walk,” Hearn stated on BBC Radio Five Live.

“He was fine; he was perhaps a touch too comfortable on the ring walk, shaking everyone’s hand and hugging a few people; that’s just AJ, but I believe it was the incorrect type of performance.” It’s not always possible to avoid using your strengths.

“[AJ] never really got going; he’ll go to the hospital now; I’m not sure if he’s shattered his eye socket, but it doesn’t appear to be in good shape.”

“However, Tony Bellew’s statements about overthinking and fatiguing you, it’s as if you’ve been mesmerized by Usyk for the last three or four days, and you end up giving him too much respect, which becomes a problem.”

“AJ stated that he is not going on vacation and that he will return to the gym immediately, which is not a smart idea.”

“You could make any number of excuses, but he was defeated by a superior opponent. When you lose, you have to take it in stride and shake someone’s hand, congratulate them, and tell them you’ll come back stronger.” It’s unknown which hospital Joshua was transported to, but Usyk was also spotted in hospital with scrapes and bruises around his eyes being treated by medics.

Both are likely to receive updates in the coming days, with both hoping that their injuries are not serious and that they will be able to compete in a rematch early in 2022.

Joshua will be desperate to restore his championships, much as he was after losing to Andy Ruiz Jr for the first time in his career in 2019, before defeating the Mexican-American in. “Brinkwire News Summary.”
