Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer, Edinson Cavani makes a special request to Manchester United fans.

At Manchester United, Edinson Cavani has a new chant.

Edinson Cavani, a Manchester United striker, has stated that he would like the club’s fans to sing his old song from now on, acknowledging that his new chant is difficult to understand. The former song of the Uruguayan midfielder was replaced just before the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, who returned to the club on deadline day.

Before making his second appearance against Newcastle United, the mercurial 36-year-old signed a two-year contract with the possibility of a third.

Before halftime, he scored with a tap-in after Magpies goalkeeper Freddie Woodman parried Mason Greenwood’s shot into his path.

After Javier Manquillo had equalized for the visitors, Ronaldo put United back in front with a beautiful two-touch finish.

When the five-time Ballon d’Or winner arrived at Old Trafford, he seized Cavani’s No 7 shirt, and United fans are expected to change the latter’s song as a result.

His previous chant was set to Abba’s Gimme Gimme Gimme, with the lyrics “Give it, give it, give it to Edi Cavani, hand him the ball and watch him score all the goals!”

Meanwhile, Cavani’s new chant contains a reference to the veteran forward’s previous shirt number of 7, which has since been altered to 21.

Cavani hinted at a preference for the original arrangement when asked by MUTV which song he preferred, admitting that he is not as fond of his new one.

“The fans have now come up with a second song that is a lot harder to sing than the first,” the 34-year-old explained.

“I was able to follow the first one: ‘Give it, give it, Edi Cavani…’ It was simpler to follow, and I was able to sing along at times!

“This second one, which is also extremely wonderful and really good, and right now I’d want to thank all the United fans for their warmth and affection, this second song is a lot harder to sing!”

Due to the arrival of Ronaldo, who recently thanked his new team-mate for handing over the legendary No. 7 shirt, the terms of Cavani’s new chant will need to be adjusted significantly.

“I wasn’t sure if the number seven shirt would be available again,” Brinkwire Summary News said.
