According to reports, two Real Madrid players are thought to have gotten into a fight during a training session as tensions in the Spanish capital don’t seem to be abating amid a tumultuous season finale.
The player believed to have been smacked by teammate Antonio Rudiger during a training ground altercation two weeks prior was identified by Daily Mail Sport on Wednesday. Alvaro Carreras subsequently posted a lengthy statement on social media.
According to Spanish publication Marca, there was another altercation inside the group that day, with Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni reportedly nearly fighting.
According to the article, the players’ challenge turned into a public altercation.
Valverde and his French colleague are rumoured to have shoved each other, with the altercation spilling into the locker room after the practice at Valdebebas. Valverde is thought to have drawn interest from Manchester United with the summer transfer market quickly approaching.
Some of Alvaro Arbeloa’s players are reportedly barely able to communicate with one another due to the toxic atmosphere of anger in Madrid, which shows no signs of abating. The tabloid emphasises that up to six players are refusing to speak to the temporary head coach himself.
It is thought that Aurelien Tchouameni and Fede Valverde got into a fight at the Real Madrid training facility.
As the season draws to a close, head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has been forced to settle for a locker room filled with poisonous dissatisfaction.
Following Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Espanyol on Sunday, Arbeloa was compelled to dismiss rumours regarding the whereabouts of Kylian Mbappe, one of the players at the center of the raging turmoil in the dressing room.
When the France captain was photographed last weekend on a yacht in Sardinia with his new girlfriend, actress Ester Exposito, he became the center of controversy.
The 27-year-old was absent from Arbeloa’s squad due to a muscular problem in his left leg, but he returned to training on Monday.
However, Mbappe’s manager vehemently refuted claims that he had violated rules by taking a vacation before to the season’s conclusion.
Through a representative, Mbappe also issued a statement in which he emphasised that the criticism he was getting “NOT corresponds to the reality and the work that Kylian does daily for the good of the team.”
However, Spanish media outlets said that there was “incomprehension” among his teammates regarding the time of his vacation, and on Wednesday night, a petition urging the player to quit the team gained momentum.
Mbappe has previously faced criticism for supposed “individualism” in the dressing room and had reportedly gotten into a heated altercation with one of Arbeloa’s assistants during a training session prior to leaving the break.
Real Madrid’s supporters are unhappy as the team gets ready for the season’s last El Clasico, where a loss may see bitter rivals Barcelona win La Liga.
Only Madrid’s victory over Espanyol last weekend prevented Los Blancos from having to present Barcelona with a guard of honour when the champions-in-waiting welcome them to Camp Nou on Sunday. The Catalan giants are currently 11 points ahead of their former rival.
