‘Famous for being chinned,’ says Tyson Fury of his fight with’mandatory challenger’ Dillian Whyte.

TYSON FURY shut down his “mandatory challenger” Dillian Whyte in a heated row, claiming the boxer was just “famous for being chinned” by rival Anthony Joshua, unearthed accounts show.

The 33-year-old wowed boxing fans across the globe as he claimed a stunning knockout win over arch-foe Deontay Wilder on Saturday night, to retain his WBC heavyweight title. Fury was twice floored in the bout, which was the third instalment of fights between the boxers, but picked himself up off the canvas to knock Wilder out in the 11th round in Las Vegas. In the aftermath of his landmark victory, which brings to an end one of heavyweight boxing’s most intense rivalries, Fury described himself as the greatest to fight at this weight in history.

He said: “I was down a couple of times, I was hurt. Wilder is a strong puncher. It was a great fight. I will not make any excuses.

“Wilder is a top fighter, he gave me a run for my money. I always say I am the best fighter in the world and he is the second best.

“Don’t ever doubt me. When the chips are down I can always deliver.”

In the aftermath, attention turned to who Fury would face next – with his plans to take on Joshua, affectionately known as AJ, dismantled following the Londoner’s bruising loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

Among those touted to be next in Fury’s sights in Whyte, who if he beats Otto Wallin in their upcoming clash will become the mandatory challenger to the Manchester-born fighter, and his belts.

Fury has previously spoken of wanting to take on Whyte, alongside fellow Britons Joshua and Derick Chisora, but once unleashed a brutal takedown of his prospective opponent on Twitter.

Whyte was well beaten by Alexander Povetkin last year, and after avenging that loss, to reclaim his WBC interim heavyweight title, the Portland-born boxer attacked Fury, 33.

On Twitter, Whyte said: “Gypsy @Tyson_Fury Coward always conning the public you forget I’ve put you down lots before & watched you pathetically sobbing on the canvas you ran away last year when @wbcboxing ordered you to fight me anytime anywhere anyhow.”

But in a savage response, Fury added: “@DillianWhyte you’re a mug, Come back when u achieve something dosser, A man who had famous for getting chinned by AJ….”
