EXCLUSIVE: Ruben Loftus-Cheek considering leaving Chelsea before the transfer deadline.

Before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline, Ruben Loftus-Cheek could leave Stamford Bridge on loan or permanently.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is weighing his options ahead of the transfer deadline tomorrow night, and Express Sport knows he may be ready to quit Chelsea for good. While nothing has been finalized, Premier League and Italian clubs have expressed interest in signing the midfielder on a loan or permanent basis.

The 25-year-old was back among the substitutes when Chelsea drew 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, but Thomas Tuchel has cautioned Loftus-Cheek that his playing time will be limited.

While he showed flashes of brilliance throughout pre-season, competition in the middle of the park is intense, with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Mateo Kovacic all at the peak of their game, thus Loftus-best Cheek’s chance of playing consistently lies elsewhere.

Chelsea might yet complete the loan acquisition of Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez before the transfer deadline, pushing Loftus-Cheek even further down the midfield pecking order.

Furthermore, it’s been reported that there are questions about his place in Tuchel’s 3-4-2-1 system.

Loftus-Cheek has historically performed best in the No 10 position, but Chelsea are now fielding two central midfielders and two advanced strikers behind Romelu Lukaku.

Despite initially stating his wish to stay, Loftus-Cheek is now keen to see what bids arrive in the final hours of the window, according to a source.

Chelsea are not actively seeking to sell the player since they want to compete for trophies on all fronts this season, but they are willing to sell at the right price and would look to include a buy-back option or obligation in any potential loan agreement.

Chelsea still have Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater on their books, and both are players Chelsea would rather move on from than Loftus-Cheek.

The board is supposed to follow the intentions of its academy graduate if he decides to pursue a transfer, and the expectation has always been that he will go before the transfer window closes.
