EXCLUSIVE: David Haye has shared his predictions for the fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

When Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury step into the ring for their undisputed heavyweight title fight, the entire boxing world will be watching, and David Haye believes the former has already been written off as the underdog. Contracts have been inked for a two-fight contract, with the first battle scheduled for late July in Saudi Arabia.

It’s believed to be the biggest heavyweight bout in history, with the winner becoming the four-belt era’s first unified champion.

At 32 and 31, respectively, both Fury and Joshua are in the prime of their careers.

Fury hasn’t fought since his spectacular victory over Deontay Wilder at the start of 2020, while the former has more recent experience, having knocked out Kubrat Pulev in December.

Haye believes Fury is still riding the high after his spectacular WBC heavyweight title victory.

And, according to the former unified cruiserweight world champion, this has had a negative impact on the public’s perception of Joshua.

“After his incredible performance against Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas, a lot of people are declaring Tyson Fury the favorite,” he said.

“This was one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve ever witnessed. I had no idea Tyson Fury could fight like that, and I believe he surprised Deontay Wilder.

“I still like Deontay Wilder, but he [Fury] made him appear incredibly average.

“He made him look even more average than in his prior battles, which weren’t all that good but went the distance.

“For him to go out there and dominate indicates that he has a lot in his locker, but I believe that fight has made people doubt Anthony Joshua.

“On the strength of that incredible victory, they’ve written Anthony Joshua off, and you should do the same at your peril.”

Fury may be caught off guard if he underestimates Joshua, according to Haye.
