Everton weighing up move for Manchester City’s Fabian Delph as Silva looks to strengthen midfield

Everton are considering making an attempt to sign Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph.

The Englishman is open to the idea of leaving the Premier League champions following the club-record signing of midfielder Rodri from Atletico Madrid.

His already limited first team opportunities are likely to be further impacted by the return of left-back Angelino from PSV Eindhoven, Delph having often been used in the role.

Delph’s willingness to leave has put a number of top flight clubs on alert with the Toffees among them, according to The Guardian.

Everton manager Marco Silva doesn’t need cover at left back with Leighton Baines and Lucas Digne on the books but he could certainly do with more depth in midfielder.

The club have signed Andre Gomes from Barcelona for £22m but the likes of Idrissa Gueye, James McCarthy and Muhamed Besic could leave.
