Everton have been offered the chance to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid.
The Spanish champions are eager to sell the Colombian midfielder who has one year left on his contract and are sounding out clubs to gauge interest.
The 29-year old played under Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti at Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Rodriguez, who was the star of the 2014 World Cup, thinks England’s top flight would be a ‘good thing’ for him.
Everton’s priority positions for summer recruitment have been centre back and defensive midfield. They remain in talks with Watford and Napoli over deals for Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan respectively.
That being said, Rodriguez impressed at times during a two-year long spell with German champions Bayern Munich – which could warrant a place in Ancelotti’s side.
Since his stint in the Bundesliga, Rodriguez has been linked with a multitude of teams, including the likes of London trio Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.
