Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly lining up a move for Lazio’s prolific striker Ciro Immobile this summer.
The Italian forward has enjoyed another sensational campaign in Serie A, scoring 34 times in 35 games this term and is three ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo with a couple of matches left.
According to 90min, as reported by Goal, Ancelotti has told Everton’s hierarchy he will need backing in the market if he is to stay and has identified Immobile as a key target.
Ancelotti is said to believe that rebuilding at Everton is a bigger job then he initially thought and is keen to bring in several new additions ahead of next season.
Immobile, who is contracted at Lazio until 2023, would be a huge coup for Everton given his recent scoring record.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison were Everton’s joint-top scorers in the Premier League this term with 15 but next behind them was Bernard, who managed just three.
Everton boss Ancelotti believes adding goals to his team would go some way to solving the issues following a disappointing campaign which saw them finish 12th – their lowest since the 2003-04 Premier League season.
As well as Immobile, Everton are also targeting Jeremie Boga and Wilfried Zaha.
The club are set to revive their interest in Crystal Palace star Zaha after failing in their £70million bid to sign him last summer.
Palace are said to be more open to offers now for the wantaway forward.
Meanwhile, the race for Sassuolo’s Boga is hotting up with the former Chelsea man also attracting interest from Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli.
Sassuolo have knocked back a few offers for Boga already and are holding out for £35m.
