Due to Daniel Levy, Nuno Espirito Santo could be sacked from Tottenham without collecting a penny.

Nuno Espirito Santo has had a difficult start to his time at Tottenham Hotspur.

According to rumours, Tottenham could sack Nuno Espirito Santo on one condition without paying a penny because to chairman Daniel Levy’s bargaining talents.

Nuno was appointed in June after a tumultuous recruitment process by Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici. Spurs were on the verge of hiring three different managers before settling on the former Wolves manager.

Antonio Conte is said to have turned down the North Londoners at the eleventh hour. Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso were also unable to reach an agreement.

When they eventually announced Nuno as their new manager, it was fourth time lucky. The Portuguese international had a strong start to the season, leading the Premier League after winning each of his first three matches.

Spurs, on the other hand, are in disarray heading into the October international break. Nuno’s team has lost three games in a row in the league, conceding three goals in each of them.

Spurs’ 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Saturday was a pleasant break, but they were still far from their best.

Nuno’s stay has been questioned in recent weeks, with many supporters dissatisfied with what they believe to be a defensive approach to the game.

Nuno’s failure to produce success has now revealed that Levy’s great bargaining abilities could be advantageous.

Nuno has a break clause in his two-year contract, according to The Athletic, which allows Spurs to cancel his tenure without paying compensation.

They will only be able to do so if the 47-year-old does not finish in the top six this season.

Jose Mourinho was fired in April as it became evident that Spurs would struggle to finish in the top six. Interim boss Ryan Mason, who finished seventh, took his position.

The North Londoners were sixth the previous season. In 2018-19, they finished fourth after Mauricio Pochettino led them to the Champions League final.

Spurs are in seventh place in the Premier League after winning four of their first seven games. Nuno’s first few months have been marred by teething troubles, as seen by three defeats.

To make his team more consistent, the former Valencia manager needs solve a number of concerns. One of the most pressing is the fact that Harry Kane has failed to score a goal.
