Conor McGregor is ready for retaliation against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, saying, “He’s going to pay.”

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier’s verbal spat is heating up ahead of their highly anticipated trilogy showdown at UFC 264.

Conor McGregor, the Irish UFC superstar, is ready to complete his trilogy with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. And the Dubliner has reacted angrily to the American’s accusations that he lacks confidence ahead of the battle.

McGregor and Poirier will battle in the main event on Saturday night in Las Vegas, in front of a sold-out crowd, to resolve their three-bout rivalry, which is evenly balanced at one win each.

In their first fight in 2014, McGregor won by TKO in the opening round, but Poirier evened the score with a TKO finish of his own at UFC 257 in January.

Now they’re poised to fight for the third time, and Poirier believes McGregor’s more energised demeanor ahead of their third fight indicates a psychological flaw in the Irishman.

Poirier told ESPN, “The beautiful thing about this one is if it’s crazy Conor again, I just don’t care a f***.”

“I don’t give a damn, and I’d have been fine if he’d been insane in the last one, too.

“Mentally, I’m no longer a child. I’m an adult who understands what matters and what I can control.

“I just don’t beat myself up as much as I did to when it came to critics.

“I think it’s going to be insane again, Conor,” says the narrator. I’m rather certain.”

But, according to Poirier, McGregor’s actions are all a ruse, especially considering what happened to him the last time they met inside the cage.

“I wouldn’t call it amusing, but it’s – how insane can you get?” He went on to say more.

“You were knocked out the last time we played. In Abu Dhabi, we put you in airplane mode in front of the entire world. “What do you have to say?”

“First one to shoot’s a dusty b****,” McGregor tweeted, daring Poirier to stand and trade with him.

Poirier brushed off McGregor’s challenge, reminding him of the sport they’re participating in.

“Isn’t he always preaching about the flow, full martial arts, no holds barred, no restrictions, ultimate combat, when he’s talking about boxing and stuff?” Poirier explained.

“How about the dusty b**** is the first to be brought down?”

“This.” according to the Brinkwire Summary News.
