CODY GARBRANDT trolled Sean O’Malley after predicting the rising star would leave the octagon on stretcher against Marlon Vera

The former champion and O’Malley traded insults online after they both scored stunning knockout wins in June.

Their fight was put on the back burner as Garbrandt moves down to flyweight to challenge Deiveson Figueiredo.

When that fight was announced, O’Malley jibed: “I hope you don’t get knocked out at strawweight because it won’t look as good when I knock you out. Good luck.”

Garbrandt promptly hit back: “Hopefully you don’t have to get carried out of the cage like a b*** again… good luck.”

And those words proved true as his O’Malley was indeed taken away on a stretcher after suffering a freak foot injury in his UFC 252 loss to ‘Chito’ Vera.

O’Malley appeared to injure his ankle in just the first round inside the UFC’s empty Apex Center.

After he was forced to the floor, Vera seized the opportunity with savage ground and pound.

He landed a big left hook before a string of elbows forced ref Herb Dean to stop the fight.

O’Malley was handed his first loss as his 12 fight winning streak was snapped.

Rubbing salt into the wounds, Garbrandt tweeted: “Some people aren’t made for war… #SugaFree.”
