Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku will have a medical on Sunday and will become the club’s ‘highest earner.’

Following a price agreement with Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku is expected to have his Chelsea physical on Sunday.

According to rumors, Romelu Lukaku will have a physical in Belgium on Sunday ahead of his £97 million return to Chelsea. Lukaku is set to return to Chelsea seven years after leaving the club for the first time. After finishing his medical, the striker will go to London within 24 hours.

According to The Athletic, Lukaku is expected to sign a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, worth between £10 million and £11 million net every season, or £195,000 per week after tax.

That would make the Belgium international Chelsea’s highest-paid player.

Chelsea wanted to include marginal players in the deal, while Inter demanded more than £100 million.

The Blues, on the other hand, have agreed to pay roughly £97 million for the 28-year-old.

Chelsea were reportedly ‘desperate’ to complete the transfer before the end of Sunday in order for the forward to have enough time to prepare for the Premier League season.

Due to a sell-on clause imposed after the player’s sale two years ago, Manchester United will collect about £3.3 million from the move.

Lukaku was not wanted by Inter at the start of the summer transfer window.

Despite the departure of head coach Antonio Conte, the player was glad to stay.

On Wednesday, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was asked about the possibility of signing Lukaku.

The German complimented the former Everton midfielder but remained tight-lipped about a possible trade.

Tuchel stated, “I won’t comment about players who aren’t in my squad.”

“Romelu Lukaku is a terrific player, but he is an Inter player, and with all due respect, I will not discuss him.” The German coach did acknowledge, though, that he wants to buy a striker this summer.

“With Olivier Giroud’s departure, we might use a player who plays with his back to goal and whose strength is keeping possession from long balls so we can add this direct style of play to our portfolio,” Tuchel continued.

“This is a trait of a player who isn’t Tammy.” Brinkwire Summary News”.
