Brighton and Newcastle United are fighting for AIK’s highly regarded flying winger Zadok Yohanna for £20 million.
The 18-year-old has already received an initial offer from Brighton, and Newcastle is currently negotiating terms with the Swedish team.
Chelsea and Tottenham have also been keeping an eye on Yohanna, who only joined AIK from the Ikon Allah academy in Nigeria last summer.
Yohanna, a left-footed winger who plays on the right, has also been observed by personnel from Real Madrid, Rennes, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund. In fact, 32 scouts were present at the April match against Kalmar FF, all of whom were reportedly interested in the adolescent.
Yohanna was called up to play for Nigeria last month, but AIK prevented him from attending the Unity Cup national camp on the grounds that he needed time to heal from an injury.
Although he has only participated in seven league games, scoring twice and dishing out two assists, his promise was evident in Swedish Cup matches earlier this year, and clubs have already expressed a strong desire to sign him.
Zadok Yohanna is being pursued by Newcastle and Brighton, with numerous other teams also showing interest.
AIK, which is listed on the public market, unavoidably announced on Sunday that they had begun selling negotiations.
Brighton has risen to the top of the list thanks to their talent for finding treasures, and there is optimism that a deal will be reached.
Coach Jose Riveiro has praised Yohanna’s pace and technical prowess in one-on-one settings. A club and Swedish top flight record sale of about £22 million is what they are aiming for.
Victor Munoz, an Osasuna winger, is also being evaluated by Newcastle.
