Chelsea midfielder Trevor Chalobah is discussing a loan to French side Lorient.
The 21-year-old has previously been on loan at Huddersfield and Ipswich Town.
An England Under-21 international, Chalobah has yet to play a competitive first-team game for Chelsea, although he was on the bench for the 2018 FA Cup final.
Chalobah featured prominently for Huddersfield last season as he made 36 Championship appearances.
Lorient have already made one signing in this transfer window, bringing in forward Adrian Grbic from Clermont.
They will play in Ligue 1 this season after winning the second division last campaign.
Chalobah enjoyed much success at youth level at Chelsea and has just under two years remaining on his contract with the club.
Four Chelsea players have already left the club on loan ahead of the new season. Lucas Piazon has joined Rio Ave, Charlie Brown is with Union SG, Danilo Pantic has linked up with Cukaricki and Jamie Cumming is at Stevenage.
