Chelsea is aware that Declan Rice wishes to join the club, while West Ham is in the midst of a transfer struggle.

Declan Rice, a West Ham midfielder, is a target for Chelsea in this summer’s transfer window.

Declan Rice is believed to want to leave West Ham in order to return to Chelsea, according to reports. Last season, the England international shone as the Hammers qualified for the Europa League. He was also one of the star performers at Euro 2020, where the Three Lions were defeated by Italy in the final.

Rice was a target for Chelsea a year ago.

The Blues, however, refused to make an official bid after spending money on players like Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

Chelsea is now the new European champions after winning the Champions League, and they’re ready to go after Rice once more.

And, according to Eurosport’s Dean Jones, who spoke on The Football Terrace podcast, the Blues believe the West Ham player wants to join them.

He said, “Let’s call it an informal inquiry.”

“Chelsea will absolutely go to West Ham and tell them what they need to do.

“They’ll do it because they want to know,” says the narrator.

“Even if they decide not to pursue it after that, they need to get the ball rolling, they need to know how feasible it is, and they need to know the player wants to come.”

Rice isn’t the only player Chelsea is interested in.

They’re also interested in signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, especially after Olivier Giroud’s exit to Serie A heavyweights AC Milan.

Dortmund has consistently stated that the Norwegian international will not be allowed to leave the club, particularly after allowing Jadon Sancho to join Manchester United.

Chelsea, according to Jones, will make an offer if they receive indications that Haaland wants to come.

“What if we gave double that (his £66 million release clause) now?” Chelsea pondered, he said.

“I spoke with Dortmund officials, and that’s the only way they see them turning their backs on this problem.

“Because you’re saying, ‘Right now, we can get twice the money we’d get in a year, which is lot closer to his true evaluation.’”
