Charlie Mulgrew challenged the bottle of Rangers and maintains he still hopes Celtic will win the championship.
Rangers have a huge 19-point advantage over their rivals and have yet to lose this season in the Premier League. Celtic, on the other hand, have already been beaten by the Ibrox side twice, but Mulgrew knows how solid the Hoops are, and they’ve proven that in their nine title wins.
Throughout Steven Gerrard’s tenure, the Gers have not led in the league and the former Celtic defender is keen to see how they do it when the pressure is on. “I don’t know. I’m still pretty optimistic,” When asked if the league race is too far away, Mulgrew told the Huddle podcast.
I know we’re going to keep saying it has to start right now, but if Celtic goes on a roll and Rangers mess up a couple of times…. None of them in this squad have achieved anything.
When you’re chased, no matter how many points you’re ahead of you, you start second-guessing yourself a little when you lose one and they win one and the pressure rises.
Rangers were never even ahead, they were chased and they didn’t win a trophy.
“It’s going to be tough, but Celtic need a long run of winning games and hopefully Rangers make a few slip-ups and then we’ll see where the Rangers bottle is.”
