Celtic have made four new signings. Eddie Howe could be the first to reveal a new leader with Hoops this week.

Celtic are anticipated to confirm Eddie Howe’s appointment within the next week.

Three months after Neil Lennon’s departure in February, Celtic appear to be on the verge of appointing Eddie Howe as the club’s new manager. Howe, who has been unemployed since leaving Bournemouth in August, has been connected with the post for some time and would be expected to return to the top of the Scottish Premiership league as soon as he arrives.

Rangers, the freshly crowned champions, defeated the Hoops this time, with Steven Gerrard’s team strolling to the trophy with a 23-point margin over their bitter rivals.

Celtic certainly needs to work hard throughout the summer months if they are to have a chance to reclaim their domestic title.

According to the Daily Record, Howe will have a number of probable transfer targets in mind before his job is officially revealed later this week.

During his time as the manager of Bournemouth, he established himself as one of the most prolific managers in English football.

With three promotions in two consecutive terms as manager, he led the Cherries from the verge of relegation to the Premier League, and they went on to successfully hold their top-flight position for five seasons.

It’s likely that Howe will attempt to sign a former player or two this summer, and he might be tempted to raid the Championship for experienced defender Steve Cook.

The Bournemouth captain is a no-nonsense player with excellent leadership characteristics and plenty of Premier League experience, attributes that could help Celtic dethrone Rangers.

Cook has been a key player for the Cherries this season, but his contract expires next month, and he may be a good buy for the Hoops if they can get him for free.

He still has a few years left in him at 30 years old, and under Howe’s direction, he has every potential of reaching old heights.

In addition, the new Celtics manager will have to cope with the situation surrounding Odsonne Edouard, who has been heavily linked with a summer departure in recent months.

“Brinkwire Summary News” if the Frenchman cannot be persuaded to stay in Glasgow for at least a year.
