Celtic 1-0 Aberdeen: How Neil Lennon’s players rated in narrow win

0

Scott Bain 6

Wasn’t really tested but was beaten by Kamberi’s first-half strike. Brave goalkeeping at the end to smother a loose ball.

Jonjoe Kenny 6

Decent enough performance but could be a little more adventurous going forward.

Stephen Welsh 6

Could have given away a penalty after the ball struck his arm from close but generally fared well.

Kris Ajer 7

Excellent in dealing with Aberdeen’s aerial bombardment. Good use of the ball, too.

Greg Taylor 6

Solid enough defensively but didn’t get forward enough to really threaten Aberdeen.

Ismaila Soro 6

Another solid showing from the defensive midfielder. Had a lot of ground to cover but did so admirably.

Ryan Christie 6

Had a couple of set-pieces that came to nothing. Played a little deeper than usual and had less of an impact in the final third as a result.

Callum McGregor 7

Excellent driving run to tee up Turnbull and was the one making things happen for his side throughout the game.

David Turnbull 7

Superb goal and was unfortunate not to add to his tally. Will be giving Steve Clarke a headache with the Euros on the horizon.

Odsonne Edouard 5

Quiet night for the Frenchman. Found himself crowded out.

Albian Ajeti 5

Didn’t link up particularly well with his team-mates. Looked rusty.

Substitutes

Tom Rogic (for Ajeti, 62’) 5

Another decent showing from the playmaker.

Scott Brown (for Soro, 72’) 5

Came on to shore up midfield.

Patryk Klimala (for Edouard, 80’) 3

Had little effect.

Mouhamed Elyounoussi (for Turnbull, 80’) 3

Had little effect.
