Carlos Tevez’s ‘vacation’ in China netted him enough money to buy Jeff Bezos’ property.
During his time in the Chinese Super League, ex-West Ham striker Carlos Tevez was one of the highest-paid players in the world, earning enough to buy one of Jeff Bezos’ homes.
Carlos Tevez earned enough money in China during his seven-month ‘vacation’ that he could afford to buy one of Jeff Bezos’ mansions.
Tevez joined Shanghai Shenhua from Boca Juniors in January 2017, becoming one of the highest-paid players in the world at the moment.
His salaries of around £640,000 per week put him in second place in the Chinese Super League, behind international teammate Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Tevez, on the other hand, returned to Boca after only one season in the Far East, having played for Shanghai Shenhua for only seven months and considering his time there as a “vacation.”
Despite this, Tevez earned a staggering amount of money while playing in China’s top flight, despite making only 20 appearances.
Tevez made roughly £34 million in total.
These revenues are even more astonishing when you consider that they would allow Tevez to buy one of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ houses.
With a net worth of approximately (dollar)200 billion, Bezos is the world’s richest man. He has multiple houses in the United States as well as across the world.

His real estate holdings include a Hawaiian island palace, a Los Angeles residence, five floors of a New York City apartment complex, and a Texas ranch.
Tevez, on the other hand, would be able to buy his Washington, D.C. mansion with his Chinese Super League revenues, which he would be able to do twice over.
The property is located in the affluent Kalorama neighborhood and was purchased by Bezos in 2016 for (dollar)23 million, which is roughly £17 million.
Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, as well as Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, are among its neighbors.
Tevez was linked with a move to nearby MLS club D.C. United in 2018, and if the move had gone through, he may have targeted a home comparable to Bezos’ estate.
He is, however, looking for a new club after being a free agent since leaving Boca Juniors in July.
