Canelo Alvarez is once again singled out by Kamaru Usman, who ignores Dana White’s warning.
Despite UFC president Dana White’s warnings, KAMARU USMAN insists on fighting and defeating Canelo Alvarez.
Usman, the UFC welterweight champion, claims he is set on switching sports to face Alvarez, the pound-for-pound boxing king.
“C’mon man, let’s stop this s***,” a sneering White told the MMA fighter.
When asked about his hopes, Usman told TMZ Sports, “I’ve already said the name that interests me.”
That is something that I am interested in learning more about.
“Why would I do it if I didn’t believe in myself? Of course, I do.”
I’m not going to deprive him of anything.
“However, how often does one get the opportunity to pit oneself against the best?”
“That’s Dana, but I’m fighting. Dana’s boss, man, but I’m the one fighting,” he added when reminded of White’s decision.
After watching the 31-year-old outclass Caleb Plant to become the undisputed super-middleweight champion, White slammed Usman’s desire to fight Alvarez in the ring.

“He doesn’t want to fight Canelo, he doesn’t want to fight Canelo,” he explained.
“Come on, man, let’s get this nonsense over with.”
“[Kamaru] doesn’t want to fight Canelo because Alvarez is so dangerous in the ring,” says the fighter.
