Before being pulled out of the World Cup squad, a Spain defender shares heartbreaking details about the death of his five-year-old sister

The devastating death of his five-year-old sister has been discussed by Spain’s Robin Le Normand, a defender.

The 29-year-old Atletico Madrid player describes the event in his book For Fear of Disappointing, which was released in April.

Le Normand was not included in Luis de la Fuente’s squad for this competition, despite being one of Spain’s most notable players as they won the 2024 European Championship.

Through Marca, Le Normand stated in his book: “I find peace writing about my sister.”It was a really trying period. My sister died from an electric shock in a household accident after touching something she shouldn’t have.

“That feeling of doubt, of fear, of believing that you’re no longer good enough for football or for life,” he said, adding that he had occasionally struggled with inner demons.

Robin Le Normand, a defender for Spain, claims that his five-year-old sister perished in an electrical accident.

Since joining the team in 2023, Le Normand has earned 27 caps for Spain, yet he is one of numerous prominent absences.

Real Madrid players like Dani Carvajal and Dean Huijsen are also missing out on the World Cup for the first time ever.

Le Normand’s withdrawal deprives La Roja of both musical and footballing talent.

“My brother plays, my sister plays… as I’m the older brother, I wanted to play too,” the defender, a gifted pianist, once remarked. I know a few songs, but I don’t play like them. “In the world of football, there is only football, and it’s true that when I go back home, I like playing the piano, it’s another world.” “If I like a song, let’s see if I can play it.” I can play some of them, but not many at my level.

Tom Odell’s Another Love was the first book he studied. “I loved the one I wanted to learn, and it was all over social media,” he remarked. “I’ve spent a lot of time learning it, and I’m fairly proficient now.”
