Bayern Munich is interested in signing Erling Haaland, which would be a setback for Manchester United’s summer transfer ambitions in 2022.
Bayern Munich’s transfer ambitions may jeopardize Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for Manchester United.
Bayern Munich has reaffirmed their interest in signing Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, putting Manchester United’s hopes of getting him next summer in jeopardy.
Adidas and Manchester United have unveiled their official 2021/22 home jersey, which features a modern take on the club’s traditional designs.
After Manchester City and Chelsea moved on to other targets, United had moved ahead in the race to sign Haaland.
City are attempting to lure Tottenham striker Harry Kane away from the club, but the deal has been stalled due to Spurs’ refusal to trade the forward.
Chelsea’s £97.5 million deal for Romelu Lukaku was approved by Inter Milan, and the Belgian is set to rejoin the club soon.
Both teams were interested in Haaland, but his £150 million price tag frightened them off, so they pursued other options.
Next summer, a £64 million release clause in the 21-year-Dortmund old’s contract will become active, and United will likely prefer to take advantage of the lower fee rather than spending more than double that amount this season.
The Red Devils, however, will face stiff competition from Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich, who have expressed an interest in signing Haaland openly.
Hasan Salihamidzic, the club’s sporting director, has praised the forward, who has 57 goals in 59 games for Dortmund.
“He’s a wonderful talent and, from what I’ve heard, a great kid,” Salihamidzic told Sport1.
“You look there, but he’s a BVB player,” says the narrator. In 60 games, he scored 60 goals. We would be complete amateurs if you didn’t look.”
United has already spent a lot of money this summer and will most likely opt to spend the lower price on Haaland next year.
Edinson Cavani just signed a new deal that will keep him at Old Trafford for another year.
United’s lone confirmed summer signing is Haaland’s former Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho, but Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is generally anticipated to join him at the Premier League runners-up.
Sancho has joined Manchester United for £73 million, completing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dream assault.
Varane will join United soon after Real accepted a £35 million deal.
Solskjaer has been looking for a new centre-back partner for Harry Maguire for a long time and will finally get his man. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
