Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has reportedly admitted that Thiago Alcantara has appeared to make his mind up about leaving the club.
The 29-year-old continues to be heavily linked with a £29m switch to Liverpool this summer despite the club’s Champions League success.
Thiago played a key role in Bayern’s 1-0 Champions League final victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
Now Bayern CEO Rummenigge has reportedly spoken about the current situation regarding their star midfielder.
‘We always read a lot about Liverpool, but they haven’t contacted us yet,’ he told Bild.
‘Yesterday we had the meeting with our employees and his whole family was there, and they wandered around the square in great nostalgia [at the Allianz Arena], I would say.
‘It looked a lot like goodbye, as if he had made up his mind.’
After Bayern’s Champions League final win, manager Hansi Flick also admitted he did not know where the midfielder’s future lies.
He said: ‘I don’t know and he doesn’t know yet either [where his future lies], because we all focused on this Champions League final.
‘I think we will have to wait what the following days will bring.’
Thiago reportedly has his heart set on a Bayern exit this summer, and is keen to move to Anfield.
However it has been reported that Liverpool are unwilling to meet Bayern’s £29m price tag for the player considering he has just 12 months left of his current deal.
