Barcelona defeated fierce rivals to win La Liga. Real Madrid will finish off a terrible week for Los Blancos with a screamer from Marcus Rashford, followed by an emotional homage to his “fantastic” team by Hansi Flick following the death of his father

After defeating bitter rivals Real Madrid 2-0 to keep the title, Barcelona won two consecutive La Liga championships.

The Catalan powerhouses had yet another outstanding season and won the title on Sunday with just a point.

And they easily accomplished it as Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres’ goals in the first half led Hansi Flick’s team to their 30th victory in 35 league games in 2025–2026.

After just nine minutes, Barcelona took the lead thanks to a spectacular free kick from Man United loanee Rashford. Nine minutes later, former Man City star Torres completed a brilliant team play.

Despite Jude Bellingham’s goal being disallowed for offside, Alvaro Arbeloa’s team, who have had a very difficult week, were unable to summon a reply.

Nevertheless, in what has been a terrible season for Los Blancos, they endured the humiliation of losing to Barcelona to give their bitter rivals the championship.

Barcelona defeated bitter rivals Real Madrid 2-0 to win back-to-back La Liga titles.

At the end of the game, Barcelona’s players threw Hansi Flick into the air, causing joyous celebrations.

At full time at the Nou Camp, Barcelona’s players threw their coach Hansi Flick into the air in celebration at the outcome.

Rashford and Torres both raced to the German as they scored, and the moment was especially heartbreaking because Flick’s father had died over the weekend.

Flick was passionate in his post-game remarks as he considered the victory.

“I will always remember this day,” he declared. My father’s death made the day difficult for me at first, but my team is amazing.

They gave it their all today, and I’m incredibly proud of them. The fans are also amazing, and I truly adore it. It’s like a family.

“Winning La Liga in El Clasico against Real Madrid and being in this stadium are both incredible.”Everyone said, “Okay, we can win this,” but it wasn’t simple. Real is a wonderful squad, and we performed admirably.

Flick’s team has won 11 straight games on their road to the championship, and after winning every home game this season, they are currently 14 points ahead of Real.

After winning their 29th league championship, Barcelona is now only seven points behind their bitter rivals, who have won 36.

Singer Olivia Rodrigo, whose emblem appeared on Barcelona’s shirts for the evening as part of their collaboration with Spotify, watched as chants of “Championes, Championes” echoed throughout the Nou Camp.

Barcelona’s shirts that night had the insignia of singer Oliver Rodrigo, who was present.

Following the death of his father, Hansi Flick, the manager of Barcelona, had a very emotional evening.

In the meantime, Sunday’s events culminated in a very cruel time for Real, whose manager Arbeloa is currently under tremendous strain.

Federico Valverde was admitted to the hospital earlier this week following an argument with Aurelien Tchouameni, the second altercation between the two in two days.

Fans were incensed at Kylian Mbappe, who missed El Clasico due to injury, for taking a flight to Sardinia with his girlfriend prior to their victory against Espanyol last week. Mbappe was granted time off to heal from a hamstring injury.

In a similar vein, it was stated that he had a recent altercation with an unidentified member of the club’s coaching staff, during which the Frenchman allegedly talked insultingly and harshly to the person.

Alvaro Carreras and Antonio Rudiger reportedly got into a physical argument, which further damaged the team’s reputation during a season that would conclude without a trophy.
