By acquiring a new agent, Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has moved ahead with his plans to leave Parkhead.
A deal with the London-based Stellar Group, which also represents Gareth Bale, Jack Grealish and Kieran Tierney, was signed by the Hoops striker.
Edouard is eager for his new agent to take him to the English Premier League or overseas for big money, The Scottish Sun reports.
This summer, the French youngster was the subject of increased transfer speculation, with a number of high-profile European clubs tracking his position.
In the English Premier League, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Leicester City are just three clubs said to be interested in his services.
Neil Lennon is keen on keeping the Frenchman, who last season scored 28 goals in all competitions, although he admits that the striker will be courted by big clubs.
Celtic has sold some of its great players, as in the past, and hopes to be ready in case this happens with Edouard again.
Lennon insists he and his staff are still pursuing contingency plans with negotiations still ongoing. He hopes Edouard will stay, however.
“It’s the same as with the contract talks, there has been no further movement one way or the other,” the Celtic boss said earlier.
We’ve sold guys like Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney in previous years, whether it’s Edouard or any other player – it’s not something we’re not prepared for. It’s not something we want, but there can be intense speculation around some of our players, so we have to plan ahead.
That’s what we’re doing. It’s like a circular movement. When the market opens up, we have to keep the wheels turning and be prepared for any eventuality. Until October, there will be a long transfer window. There will be pros and cons – it can sometimes be to your advantage, sometimes it can be to your disadvantage.
“We have to be prepared for that as well and be patient.”
