As the Hammers prepare a transfer move for Manchester United, West Ham are hoping of a last-ditch Jesse Lingard deal.

This summer, Jesse Lingard could return to West Ham.

According to rumors, West Ham United will make a late effort to recruit Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard before the transfer deadline tonight. In the last hours of the summer transfer window, the Hammers are expected to pursue a low-cost deal for Lingard.

Adidas and Manchester United have unveiled their official 2021/22 home jersey, which features a modern take on the club’s traditional designs.

Lingard did not play in Man United’s season opener against Leeds United, although he did start the visits to Southampton and Wolves.

Despite the arrival of Jadon Sancho in the summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed last month that the 28-year-old intended to battle for his spot at Old Trafford.

Lingard’s stance may have shifted as a result of Cristiano Ronaldo’s upcoming comeback, since game time is now significantly less likely.

According to the latest rumours, West Ham is likely to offer him consistent playing time as the deadline approaches.

West Ham will make a last-ditch push to sign Lingard, according to the Daily Mirror, but they will not reach Man United’s £30 million asking price.

The Hammers will not pay ‘anywhere near’ United’s valuation of Lingard because he has a year left on his current contract.

Rather than signing the England international on a free transfer next summer, West Ham are hoping to sign him this week for a bargain price.

David Moyes wants him to return to the London Stadium, where his brilliant play guided the club achieve a Premier League sixth-place finish last season.

Kurt Zouma joined West Ham from Chelsea for £30 million on Sunday, boosting Moyes’ defensive options.

The club is also close to completing a £25 million deal for CSKA Moscow forward Nikola Vlasic, which many believed would put an end to Lingard’s prospects of returning to the club.

However, Moyes appears to want to add both players to his attack and enhance his squad’s depth ahead of a long season.

The Hammers’ participation in the Europa League will necessitate a larger squad in order to protect Moyes’ key players from injury.

Lingard isn’t the only forward who might quit United before Tuesday’s deadline.

Leeds United are in advanced talks to sign Daniel James on a permanent basis, in a move that may be worth £20 million.

James has started two of United’s three Premier League games this season, but his playing time will be limited once Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo join the fray.
