Former midfielder Darren Fletcher of Manchester United has been added to the first-team coaching staff.
Before making over 300 first-team appearances and leading the club to various achievements, including five Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the Champions League, the former Scotland captain came through the youth ranks of Manchester United.
Fletcher has been practicing with the U16 squad of the Red Devils and will now support Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with his first-team stars.
“As part of his team, the United boss expressed his delight in securing Fletcher, telling the website of the club, “Darren has the United DNA flowing through his veins and he knows exactly what it takes to be a player for Manchester United.
“He’s at the start of his coaching career and his experience on and off the pitch as well as his winning mentality, commitment and hard work will be a great asset to the staff.”
Fletcher, who made 80 appearances for Scotland, added: “As a first-team coach, I am delighted to be returning to the club.”
“It’s a very exciting time for this young team and I’m looking forward to taking the next steps in my coaching career working with Ole and his staff.”
