As Jeremy Doku’s father speaks out, Liverpool has given the go-ahead for a January transfer.
Jeremy Doku’s father has given Liverpool a major boost by allowing his son to join the club.
Jeremy Doku has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time, and they may finally get the chance to sign him in January after his father agreed to a transfer.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Jeremy Doku, a Belgian youngster, and have been given a major boost following comments made by the player’s father.
Doku was linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s side during the summer after the Belgian impressed while representing his country at the European Championships, and it wasn’t the first time a move to Anfield had been suggested.
Doku revealed that Liverpool tried to sign him while he was at Anderlecht in 2017-18, but he declined because he didn’t feel ready to join such a big club at the time.
Doku, on the other hand, may make the move after all, as his father has given Liverpool the go-ahead.
Liverpool aren’t the only team interested in Doku, who currently plays for Rennes in France.
Barcelona may have to look elsewhere, as Doku’s father has ruled out a move to Barcelona following recent comments, potentially allowing Liverpool to try their luck once more.
“We haven’t heard anything from Barcelona yet,” Doku’s father told Het Laatste Nieuws in an interview.
“I don’t think that’s right.”
Barcelona, in my opinion, is not in a position to spend large transfer fees at the moment.

“There are a lot of other clubs interested in Jeremy, but I’m not allowed to say anything about it.”
“He has the option of saying ‘wait and see.'”
I don’t believe he wants to change just yet, but in football, anything can happen at any time.
It all depends on who’s interested.”
Liverpool are expected to look for a new striker in the January transfer window as they prepare to lose both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Doku has been mentioned as one of Jurgen Klopp’s main targets, as the 19-year-old has been on his own.
