As former Rangers star Jeremie Frimpong strikes, Charlie Adam insists Celtic need a “brand new team”

DUNDEE midfielder Charlie Adam claims that if they struggle to record a tenth consecutive win this season, Celtic needs a “brand new team” and he has highlighted that Jeremie Frimpong maintains that the Netherlands defender does not have what it takes to play for the Premiership champions.

After last weekend’s 1-0 victory at Parkhead, Adam’s former club Rangers are 19 points clear of their rivals, while Neil Lennon’s side have played three more games and are slipping further behind in the title chase.

Adam says a big shakeout is required in Glasgow’s East End – beginning with Frimpong, who Adam says lacks the defensive skills to play regularly for the Glasgow club – should Steven Gerrard take his players to their first top-flight title since 2011.

That the £ 16 million offer was refused for Alfredo Morelos shows that in January, Rangers will not lose any main players, says Bob Malcolm.

He told the PLZ Soccer Football Show, “Frimpong, I don’t think he’s good enough.”

Yes, he’s all right, but defensively, I don’t think he’s at the stage that everybody thinks he’s at.

With James Forrest coming back from injury, they really need a right winger and I think he is a huge loss for them.

At the first chance, Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard decides to leave Parkhead.

“When you look at the number of players who want to leave, when they lose ten in a row, you see a brand new team.”
